Looking for ideas prepping the new November/December topic? NSDUpdate brings you the first part of a video recap series that will allow you to generate prep ideas by seeing how debaters have previously debated similar topics. Specifically, the first installment of this recap will feature some videos from the 2007 TOC and its topic, “Resolved: The actions of corporations ought to be held to the same moral standards as the actions of individuals.” This topic centered debate around the same broad questions as the current topic, namely the content of morality itself and how we can identify when actions conform to certain moral standards. As such, it should prove very useful as a preparation tool, or just as a fun way to view some older rounds. (A special thanks goes out to Daniel Garber, formerly of Mountain View, for filming these debates.)
NSD Update is in the process of constructing an organized archive to keep track of its soon-to-be expansive video collection. In the meantime, you can check out previously-posted videos off-site at http://vimeo.com/lddebate/videos. Follow us on Twitter @LDDebateVideos. We will be releasing more rounds over the coming days, so make sure to check back frequently.
Today’s featured round is the following: Nick Tourville of St. Louis Park (MN) affirms against Jake Nebel of Trinity Prep (FL) in R4 of the 2007 TOC.
